SPAM sucks. Expounding on the evils of it is an exercise in redundancy.

The only people that like spam are Spammers. And that CAN SPAM Act? Total bullshit. If anything, the instances of Spam have increased since the Act became law. Remember those mandatory Subject lines? You know, the ones that are supposed to say "Sexually Explicit"? When was the last time you actually saw a Subject line with those words? If you're like me, most Spam email Subject lines don't even contain actual words - at least, not words that make sense.
I said that bitching about Spam was redundant. Well then call me redundant because I am going to bitch. First off, what the fuck is up with this crap?
¾Ç¥Í©fªº¨§÷¨CÓ³£³o»ò¦n®@
Does this happen because the Spam is from some foreight country? If so, then why the fuck are these idiots Spamming to people that can't even read the fucking email?
Then there's this bit of brilliance:
You idiot dicks. I don't have a dick! I don't need vAiGra! Even if I did need vAiGra, I sure as hell wouldn't buy it from some nimrod that can't spell Viagra!
Oh, and Stephanie, Melanie, Trudy and Bert? Blow me.
My favorite Spam stupidity? Subject lines like this:
Are Spammers hiring paranoid schizophrenics now? Seriously, who the hell opens this shit?
All Spam does is fill my inbox. It wastes my time. It kills my patience. If I were to try to opt out , which I won't, I would only be sacrificing my email address to more Spammers. Dear Spammers of the world.
I hate you. I hate you. I hate you.
I don't have to guess. I know. You hate them too. We want the Spam to stop. Unfortunately, it looks like our governments are incompetent when it comes to Spam. Oh sure, they catch the occasion Spam King . But frankly after they caught the fifth or sixth Spam King, it was pretty obvious our legislators are clueless on the concept of kings. Lucky for me and for you, there are smarter, more competent people
working on the Spam epidemic. You and I have options; services and software that may not completely eliminate Spam, but will greatly reduce its occurrence.
Whether you access your email through a client installed on your machine or you access it through webmail, take the time to set up the filters that are provided. For example, both Outlook and Outlook Express have filters built into the software. Use them. Go ahead and set up filters to block the obvious Spams, like the ones with No Subject line or the ones containing particular words like Viagra. Online email providers like Yahoo also offer filters. Use them.
This email client features A.I. Spam filters. In other words, the filters learn. After a while you'll discover that your Spam is practically nil. I'm not sure what kind of voodoo magic resides in Thunderbird's Artificial Intelligence but I do know it freaking works. I've been using Thunderbird ever since it was first released and trust me, it's awesome. You can find Thunderbird at: http://www.mozilla.org
I recently installed this awesome software. It's the very first time I have ever used a Spam-blocking application. I had to get it because my DSL provider apparently hates Thunderbird. I didn't want to use Outlook or Outlook Express as an email client but I had no other choice. The only other email client compatible with my DSL account is Eudora. The best part is that SpamFighter is free. You can download it at: http://www.spamfighter.com
This is the big gun. This is a service for webmasters that get hundreds of Spams a day. Using it is a bit cumbersome at first. Here's the way the service works. Whenever someone sends you an email, that email goes to SpamArrest. SpamArrest then sends an email to you, asking if you wish the sender to be added to your whitelist. In turn, SpamArrest sends a reply email to your sender, telling them that they must wait for your approval in order to be able to email freely. Once (and if) you approve the sender, they can email you without hassle. For webmasters that need it, SpamArrest is a godsend. You can get SpamArrest at: http://www.spamarrest.com
I don't know why people still continue to Spam. I guess it must work although my guess is that these days, Spams are designed to simply collect email address from poor saps that try to opt out. Then the Spammer gathers all those email addresses and sells the list to other Spammers and the vicious cycle continues. Whatever the reason, I don't fucking care. I'm sick of it and I bet you are too.
Don't let the Spam bastards get you down. Do something about it. Use the tips, software and services I mentioned above. For the sake of your sanity...Kicks Spam's Ass!
