    Interview With J$tyle$ @ ContentBlowout!
    By C-Pimp | Pimp @ CozyFrog | FEB.05.2004

We've got your official scoop on ContentBlowout.com and DesignBlowout.com - two services known for giving webmasters extreme bang for their bucks! We caught up with none other than Jonathan Silverstein aka J$tyle$, a true veteran of the game, to get the cozy word on what he's been cooking up!

C-Pimp: Great to have you on board for this interview, appreciate you taking the time to give our cozy heads the scoop. How long have you been working in the online adult industry?

J$tyle$: Since the beginning of time! (Laughs) Actually, I started back in 1996 when I worked for a company that sold phone sex numbers as a business opportunity to the general public. People would see an advertisement in USA TODAY, The Wall Street journal, The NY Times, L.A. Times, and other daily newspapers and call us to get information on how to get started in the phone sex biz.

After working there for a few weeks I came across a company that offered advertising on the Internet as a means to gain exposure for my phone sex clients. To make a long story short, I saw an opportunity to start my own company offering similar advertising for phone sex clients on the net and immediately seized it. The funny thing was that when I launched Internet Unlimited - I was in business for about 3 months and still didn't even own a computer. (Laughs)

C-Pimp: That's some crazy stuff right there. How did you pull that off?

J$tyle$: Everything I did at the time was outsourced, and I handled all the sales and marketing myself. Shortly after that, video conferencing or what's known as “Live 1 – on –1” became a viable way to make money on the net so I started offering all my phone sex clients “1-on-1” sites because it was a logical progression and more viable money-making opportunity for the Internet than phone sex. The customers on the web could actually see the women they were fantasizing about which made it a much more profitable for everyone involved.

After selling dozens of sites, I decided that I wanted to expand my business further and looked for capital to do a national advertising campaign to make this offer to people who wanted to get into the business. One thing led to another and I met this kid Seth Warshavsky who owned a company called IEG. He said that he would fund the expansion of my company - but in return he wanted me to become the Director of Sales and Marketing for his.

Ultimately, what happened was I became completely involved with his company and the focus was taken away from the original business opportunity. At that time Seth came into possession of the infamous Pam and Tommy video. The months after the video was released were crazy - it was very exciting, it was a lot of fun.

"Webmasters want the biggest bang for their buck!"
C-Pimp: I'm sure it was. The hype for that tape was incredible when it first hit the web waves. I remember seeing banners and promos for it every spot I visited! What came next for you?

J$tyle$: After working in Seattle for a couple of years the weather got to me. It was gloomy every day, and no matter how much fun I was having - it was time for me to go back to L.A.! By that time I had made a pretty good name for myself, had a pretty extensive contact base and decided to go into business for myself again. At least that's what I thought I was going to do. What ended up happening instead was I became the President of Cybererotica and helped run that company for close to 2 years.

After that, I finally went into business for myself, started a consulting company and eventually a marketing company as well. This leaves us off where I am today. I spent the last couple of years working behind the scenes with my company Virtual iNet Promotions, Inc. structuring traffic deals, content deals, email marketing, and leveraging my relationships to the mutual benefit of a myriad of companies. Basically having fun and getting my juice from the "art of the deal". Last year I launched ContentBlowout.com!

C-Pimp: Your recent packages on ContentBlowout have been damn crazy! For those of us that aren't familiar with your service, what's this blowout site all about?

J$tyle$: ContentBlowout.com is a one-stop shop for all webmasters bulk content needs. webmaster can visit us and literally get TONS of high quality images and videos for greatly reduced prices, even pennies on the dollar! I've positioned myself as the Wal-Mart of adult content. (Laughs)

C-Pimp: Did I already mention you've got some packages on there that are damn crazy? With so many different types of providers out there, what was the principal drive or motivation behind ContentBlowout?

J$tyle$: Originally, my company was contracted to handle sales and marketing for Cloud 9 Content. Scott, the owner of that company came up with the concept to blowout his entire inventory. He figured that if he was able to sell X number of packages of his entire library he would be able to expand his company and use the funds to shoot more content and make them available in different sections of the marketplace beside just the web community. He would still shoot content for the web market as well as shoot videos to be released on DVD, as well as distribute images to be used in adult magazines around the world.

The actual blowout itself was an incredible success and brought in a HUGE surplus of cash to do what he wanted to do. I made great money off the deal and soon after was approached by a number of other content companies that wanted to do similar blowouts and have my company spearhead their sales and marketing. I seized the opportunity. Shortly thereafter I decided to launch ContentBlowout and that caused quite the controversy!

C-Pimp: Yeah, that leads me to the next question. Your content service has come under fire with a couple of webmasters and content providers on the boards. Without holding back one bit, can you tell our readers what you think about all the hooplah and how you've dealt with it?

J$tyle$: First of all, they are all a bunch of whining jerk-offs! Nah, I'm just half joking! (Laughs) It's funny though, now you see blowouts every week!

A bunch of these guys that cried the loudest about me ruining the content business have jumped on the bandwagon and tried to do their own blowouts. Most have failed miserably because they're not very good at sales and marketing. They're simply good photographers and cameramen. They were lucky early on when the content business was booming, and didn't prepare for over saturation of the market or other natural business changes. I do feel bad for some of them, but it's a dog eat dog world in business and all I can do is what I do best - and that's sell and market whatever the product is.

Look, I understand that a lot of content providers have put their blood sweet and tears as well as a lot of money to fund their operations. It's not my fault that the content market took a downward turn. The only thing that I am responsible for is helping the content providers that I am personally working with to maximize their profits AND give webmasters incredible deals in the process!

Some of the content providers that are pissed off at me say that I've ruined the content business! Pretty much – I think they have their heads up their asses! The truth of the matter is times have changed. I say adapt and roll with the punches or get the hell out of the business! Contentblowout will be around as long as there's an opportunity for me to blowout huge quantities of excellent content for pennies on the dollar.

The bottom line is that the content providers that I work with will be very happy with the additional money generated and webmasters will continue to do business with me every time I have a great deal to offer!

C-Pimp: Point taken! When we talked last, you mentioned something about an affiliate program. Is this still in the works? What's the scoop on that?

J$tyle$: Yes, actually it's something I've been working on for the past month or two and I'm extremely excited! For the past few weeks we've done some beta testing of the affiliate program and should be releasing it shortly. It's a twist on traditional webmaster programs because the basis for ContentBlowoutBucks.com is not aimed at the surfer. It's specifically aimed at the webmaster.

Webmasters that have webmaster traffic can promote any and all of the content packages I have and will receive up to $500 commission per sale. It's just another opportunity for webmasters to make additional money with their existing traffic. I see this as another huge opportunity to increase business, gain market share and give something back to hardworking webmasters. It's another win-win situation!

C-Pimp: How do you actually come up with the special offers on ContentBlowout? Do you have any fixed criteria or approach?

J$tyle$: It really is an arbitrary process. I get contacted by various content providers on a monthly basis. The type of offer we make depends on how deep their libraries are and how good their content really is.

For instance, right now were promoting Sexier Content's Porn Star Blowout package which up until recently has never been released on the net. It features top named girls that are highly searchable in the search engines and are extremely popular with surfers. This is the epitome of what I consider a blowout deal!

Webmasters receive approx 28,000 images and over 5.5 hours of dirty, wet, sloppy Blow Job videos for only $1000. 2 years ago you couldn't even touch a package like this for less than 10k. It's simply a great deal! It makes a webmaster think, “Shit! I can spend $1000 right now and have updates for the next however many months or year!” or “Damn! I can build a TON of galleries for TGPs!”, etc. It's a no brainer! If you've got $1000, there's almost no reason you wouldn't want to own this package!

C-Pimp: If I'm not mistaken, I see that you offer monthly blowout specials. Are the prices listed only good for that particular month or can webmasters still take advantage of them once the given month is over?

J$tyle$: I've made arrangements with most content providers that I work with to be able to offer their package for up to one year. So, for right now the main offer is the Sexier Content blowout, however under the main offer on ContentBlowout.com you can see a half dozen other offers that we have featured since we opened up shop. All the prices are still good, and the content packages are all fantastic!

C-Pimp: After the success of ContentBlowout, you came up with DesignBlowout.com, can you tell our cozy peeps a little bit about that?

J$tyle$: Sure. DesignBlowout came to fruition as a logical extension of ContentBlowout. I needed some design work done and had a conversation with Wade and Andrew, the owners of a well known design company. We discussed how we could potentially do biz together. We talked about how we could use the business model for ContentBlowout with a design company, and shortly after launched DesignBlowout, which offers excellent design packages at extremely reasonable rates as well as Turnkey, high quality off the shelf sites that include the full tour design, members area template, banners and promotional material, the domain name as well as all the content featured on the tour for one low price.

For example, if a webmaster is looking for a site in a particular niche and we have it available at DesignBlowout they can contact us, place the order, make payment and we'll release the site to them “as is” by FTP and they are up and running! Pretty damn cool if you ask me! (Smiles)

C-Pimp: Before we rap this up, how can content providers get in on all of this. If other providers are interested in selling their content through ContentBlowout, how do they go about doing so? Do you have certain qualifications for them with pricing and so on?

J$tyle$: My advice would simply be to contact me and carefully think about what kind of package they want to offer. I can't emphasize enough how important it is to step out of the position of a content producer and simply try to think like a webmaster.

Webmasters want the biggest bang for their buck! So, the deal has to be structured in such a way that they just can't say no. Webmasters see the offer and decide on the spot that they have to have it! They fill out the form, they generate the invoice and a sale is made. It really is a no brainer! However, I understand that content producers find it difficult to part with their content at what they believe is such a cheap or inexpensive price. The thing they have to realize is that the business is made based on volume! If I can sell 50,100, 200 packages over the course of a couple of months for $1000 a package, then they just need to do the math and to how it could be beneficial to them!

C-Pimp: Well that just about does it for this one! Thanks again for coming through. Any final comments before we officially rap this one up?

J$tyle$: Thank you for the opportunity to get the word out on my current projects. I am very happy to be featured here at CozyFrog. You guys offer a wealth of information to webmasters with an excellent site and have some great hardworking people attached to it. I look forward to continue working with you guys in the future. Thanks again!
