When I write about an untapped niche in my articles, I am referring to real collections of adults who already enact their various sexual scenarios. If one person has made a fan page for it, five thousand others practice it, whatever it may be. When one of my ‘Niches You Need to Know’ columns appears on Cozy Frog, you can be assured I am informing you of the actual carnal pastimes of thousands of humans.

When I’m all by myself in my special happy place, I like to think about new ways to compartmentalize sex for the purposes of commerce. What is the next hot trend or wave of behavior to sweep the adult Internet?

While we all sit and wait patiently for broadband to become the standard, a new adult webmaster’s only hope is the niche market.

Static images and inferior streaming delivery trap us. The popular adult categories like teen and straight hardcore are already claimed by richer, more experienced online pros. Four short years ago, a URL with 500 lesbian pics could be a successful paysite. Now we’ve got reality sites, live chat, hidden webcams, fucking machines along with flash interactivity and a burgeoning wireless porn trade. Today’s beginning paysite has to stock all of the above and more and still can’t assume they’ll make a profit.

Anyone who wants to make a dent in online porn has to give the people something more, something new. They have to learn the fine art of creating a need and then filling that need.

Someone I know asked me if I thought a site dedicated to the erotic appeal of necks was a viable business model. I thought, "Why the hell not"? There’s a whole bunch of folks getting their jollies from sniffing and screwing armpits and few sites prosperously exploiting the fetish. I see leg, shoe, foot and trampling sites all over the net. Why can’t an adult site devoted to lovely, soft, warm necks be of interest to a thousand or so horny bastards? Necks are erogenous zones. Necks lead gracefully to round, bouncy décolleté. Necks even have sex appeal to vampire wanna bees and Goth types. I tell my friend, "Yes. Try a neck site. See what happens".

I am reminded of an answer I gave to one of my write-in readers, when asked about unexplored sexual niches. I told them I thought mouths were damned sexy and somebody needed to build an adult page featuring just mouths. Mouths smiling up close, mouths eating pickles, mouths slightly parted, mouths with pretty teeth and luscious lips. Why the hell not? Blowjob sites seem to do okay.

A wonderful smile is one of the most common beacons of attraction in human society. For all the items and body parts that porn models put in their mouths, one has to realize the mouth plays a huge part in the appeal of oral. I can envision a web site that praises the mouth could find a respectable audience on the adult Internet.

When I was in a play about the Marquis de Sade, I had to beat the actor who was portraying him with my hair. I think about that when I see a shortage of sites concentrating on hair. Oh sure, there’s plenty of hair-color porn out there but very few pages that play up the passion a lot of men have for hair itself, especially long hair. They like to be twisted up in it, suffocated by it and imaging grabbing it like they would the reigns of a horse. Long hair turns men on while short hair gives others woodies. Where are the smut pages for slaves to hair?

When I started this article I wanted to title it: "Niches I Pulled Out of My Ass". I try to share smaller markets that have a proven appeal. Then I thought, why the hell not? Why not write about untried content? Practically everything that intimately excites adults is already posted on a site somewhere. Until we can offer more exciting content through the big pipe Internet connections of the ever distant future, we’re all having to think outside of the same, old box.
