"Sadly, there are adult webmasters that don't know our industry produces great print that is only a subscription away. These magazines contain important articles and analyses of this business." |
The funny thing about the whole print-is-dead meme is that we live in a time when the costs for printing magazines, books and newspapers are at the lowest they've ever been. Everything is computerized and anyone within driving distance of Kinko's can mass-produce printed media.
Granted, print is suffering. Apparently, every time a new form of media enters the public realm, newspapers and zines lose readership. Readership dropped off because of radio, because of television and now, because of the Internet. This matters very much to large publishers because at one time, it was crazy expensive to produce a daily, weekly or monthly product. Large publishers were the only ones that could afford to regularly issue glossy mags and newsprint.
Now, with the advent of computers, high-end copiers and various other tools, the little guys and specialty publishers can create professional printed media for a limited audience. Gone are the days when a publisher had to print a million copies or none at all.
You can find industry-specific publications for almost any profession. Even food service workers have magazines and journals that concentrate on industry trends, news and trade. Memorabilia collectors and vendors have zines. Gaming fans have zines. Knitting and crochet aficionados have zines. Gun lovers and soldiers of fortune have zines. Candy vendors and manufacturers have zines. In this world of niche magazines, it should come as no surprise that members of the adult Internet publish some very fine magazines just for you.
Sadly, there are adult webmasters that don't know our industry produces great print that is only a subscription away. These magazines contain important articles and analyses of this business. They cover subjects ranging from how to increase traffic to the latest from the legal battlefront. These are magazines written for adult webmasters by adult webmasters. These publications are thorough, instructional, entertaining and can be delivered right to your door.
